Frequently asked questions

 

Q:        How much are security deposits?

 

A:        Security deposits are equal to one month’s rent plus $500.00 (please confirm with your manager).

 

Q:        When are security deposits due?

 

A:        At the time of the signing of the lease.

 

Q:        Can the security deposit be used for the last month’s rent?

 

A:        No.

 

Q:        Is there a grace period when rent is due?

 

A:        No, both parties have agreed on signing the lease that there will be no grace period.

 

Q:        Can rent be paid in payments?

 

A:        No.

 

Q:        If rent falls on a Saturday, Sunday or holiday, when is the rent due?

 

A:        The preceding day.

 

Q:        Can we have pets?

 

A:        No, with the exception of Vandenberg Garden Apartments, all apartments managed by Eckert Investments have a “No Pet Clause” in the lease agreement that both parties have agreed to.

 

Q:        What is the size of a unit?

 

A:        See floor plan on website.

 

Q:        Is it okay for me to hang pictures and put holes in the wall?

 

A:        Yes, but you are responsible for returning the apartment in as good as condition as when received and will therefore be charged to patch the holes and paint the wall.

 

Q:        What is the procedure for causing maintenance to be done?

 

A:        There are three ways in which one can cause maintenance to be done:

 

1)      Call the office and leave a detailed message and be sure to leave verbal authorization to enter your apartment if you are not going to be there.

 

2)      Go to the maintenance section of the website and fill out a maintenance request form online. Again, it is important that you indicate your desire and authorization on whether to allow us to perform the necessary repairs if you are not there.

 

 

3)      You can stop by the office and fill out a maintenance request form or have a manager do so for you.
